Phillip Edward Thompson, age 55, passed away late Thursday, November 1, 2012 at his home in Gowen. He was born April 13, 1957 in Greenville, the son of Silas "Flip" and Nancy (Houck) Thompson. He retired from General Motors after 36 years of employment at the GM Stamping Plant in Wyoming. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to fish and hunt. Phillip is survived by his mother, Nancy Thompson; sisters, Mary Lou Densmore (Debra Miller) and Carla (John) Scharaswak; many aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews; and several children of special significance to him. He was preceded in death by his father, Silas Flip Thompson in 2007. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, November 10, 2012 at Hurst Funeral Home, Greenville. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the American Cancer Society.
