1933 - 2012
 DeEtta Jean Robertson, age 79, of Greenville, died November 20, 2012, peacefully at home surrounded by her friends and family. She was born in Belding, MI, on October 6, 1933, the daughter of Henry and Verda Covey. DeEtta graduated from Cedar Springs High School in 1951. In 1952, she married her high school sweetheart Robert H. Robertson Sr. and they were together for 53 years until his death in 2006. DeEtta and Robert were born on the same day, month, and year, and met when they were sixteen years old. DeEtta worked for the State of Michigan between 1970 and 1984, and spent many years as a homemaker. She also lived in many cities and towns throughout Michigan due to her husband's distinguished career in the Michigan State Police, including Cedar Springs, South Haven, Mount Pleasant, Bay City, Traverse City, Newberry and Livonia. In their retirement years, DeEtta and Robert were frequent travelers and snowbirds who spent every winter in Ellenton, Florida. DeEtta even visited all 50 states, marking her last state with a trip to Hawaii with her granddaughter Kathryn three months before her death. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Robert, her parents, her brother Henry Jay, her grandson Eric, and her friend, Jim McIntyre. She is survived by sons and wives Robert Jr. of Lansing, Curtis and Zina of Cheboygan, David and Susan of Westland, and John and Rose of Holly; grandchildren Jared (Danielle) and Kathryn Robertson and their mother Diane Robertson, Daniel and Mark (Sarah) Robertson and their mother Denise Wohlberg, Haley and Emma Robertson, Joseph Robertson, James Ramos, Holly (Kyle) Martin and Kevin (Melanie) Bykkonen; great-grandchildren Zachary, Lucas, and Madison Robertson and Zina Martin; aunt Marian Liggett of St. Joseph; sister-in-law Yvonne Rosencrans (Angie) of East Lansing; sister-in-law Myrtice Perschbacher of Rockford; special friend David Chapin; special friends the family of the late Jim McIntyre; nieces, nephews, and cousins; and many friends and neighbors to whom the family expresses gratitude for the assistance given these past weeks. Funeral services will be held at Greenville First United Methodist Church on Saturday, November 24, 2012, at 11:00 AM with Rev. Steve Charnley officiating. Burial will be in Solon Cemetery in Cedar Springs. Visitation will be held on Friday, November 23, 2012, from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM at Hurst Funeral Home, Greenville. If wishing to make a donation, please consider Greenville First United Methodist Church or the Captain Robert H. Robertson Memorial Scholarship fund at Cedar Springs High School.

We were sad to hear of DeEtta's passing. We came to know her as a family friend through my Uncle Jim. She was a gracious, warm, and caring person, and we are sure your family has many good memories of her to cherish.

I am so sorry to learn of DeEtta's passing this week. When I was married to Henry Jay DeEtta loaned me her wedding dress. I loved the family dearly and always regretted leaving them. They still hold a special part of my heart. God Bless -
