1916 - 2012
 Velma Coleman, age 96, passed away peacefully Saturday, December 1, 2012 in the comfort of her home in Greenville. She was born August 13, 1916 to Hazel and Niels Christian Jensen in Trufant, Michigan. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, the Danish Sisterhood Lodge No. 65 in Greenville, and a Lifetime Member of the VFW Auxiliary 3306 in Howard City. She lived near Lakeview after the death of her mother in 1918, moving to Howard City in 1939 where she worked in the Wolverine Glove Ship from 1953 to 1963, as well as the shoe factory in Rockford and Big Rapids before moving to California in 1966. She moved to Greenville, Michigan in 1995, spending winters in Alabama. She is survived by 12 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and some great-great grandchildren as well! She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Clarence; daughters Alice, Irene & Karen; son Dale; son in-law Andrew D. Scram; grandson Brand Lorenz; four step-sons; one step daughter; one great-grandson; and great-granddaughters. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, December 4, 2012 at Hurst Funeral Home, Greenville, with visitation from 10:00 to 11:00 AM prior to the funeral. Bishop Rodney Rackham of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Greenville, will officiate, and burial will follow immediately at West Pine Cemetery. A luncheon will follow at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 10700 West Carson City Road (M-57), Greenville.

I knew your grandma through the Danish Sisterhood. She seemed to really enjoy coming to the meetings. Sometimes I would take her home and wonder how she ever climed those stairs to her apartment. She was a nice lady that must have had a lot of heart ache in her life with loosing her children.
Sounds like you grandkids took good care of her.
