I will always remember Tom....he was not just a patient but a good friend. We would swap family stories about raising girls, his 3 my 2, and brag about our bowling scores. May he rest in peace.

My sincere sympathy to all of Tom's family. I am so sorry for your loss, but also know that he is better off now that his struggle is over. I've known Tom for a long time and he sure was a fighter. After his accident many years ago he never gave up. He worked so hard to get his mobility back, but I never heard him complain. If he couldn't do it like he used to he found a new way to do it. He was determined to get back on the golf course and he did. He was always looking for the fun in life, with a smile on his face and a story to tell. Always know how much he loved you girls. He talked of you often and was a proud dad and grandpa. You will be missed and remembered by many Tom, may you Rest in Peace.

So sorry to hear of Tom's passing. I first met Tom over thirty years ago at Meijer and I always enjoyed his stories and good natured laughter. I will always remember that even through all the pain he suffered he would always show you that big smile of his. Peg I will keep you and your family in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. We will truly miss the man that he was. God Bless.

Peg, my cuz...I LOVE you...more then you'll ever know! I'm so very glad that you and Tom had each other and I'm so pleased that the two of you ended up sharing those rides back and forth for training...who'd have ever thunk it!!! I'm glad that it worked out the way that it did, for both of you! Now Tom, my other brother...well, I never did learn how to let things, "Just roll off my back"! But, I did have the pleasure of knowing and loving a very unique character...and I wouldn't have had it any other way! You will NEVER be forgotten...you couldn't! I mean, seriously, your sense of humor, all of the family Christmases we all shared, the joy of knowing that you were one of Charlie's other parents (and have ALWAYS meant so much to him...and you did a great job too! OUR boy is one of the GREATEST!), the notes that my Mom would send with you letting your Mom know that you had had your vegetables (when my Mom made her eggrolls), and lets not forget all of the Mountain Dew!!! Tom, you've certainly left your mark on this world and I'm very pleased to have been at least a little part of it! We all are...the entire Laper clan! We all love you and will never forget you...there's too many ways that you've touched our lives for that to ever happen! So, each time one us takes a sip of Dew, we'll think of you...if we go bowling, you'll be there...when we make Mom's chow mein & eggrolls, we'll want to write that note! You lived your life to the fullest and now it's finally time for you to rest...without the all of the pain! Thank you for sharing your life with all of the Laper's...we all love you tons! Well, now it's time for you to go and rest in peace! So Tom, will you please, consider yourself hugged! Kathe (& the rest of the Laper clan!)

My sympathy goes out Peg and family. Though our time spent together was short, the memories are great for me. On many occasions I would stop up or call Tom and discuss his caregivers. Tom had a GREAT group of Nurses and aides that cared for him and HE KNEW IT. When things were not great, I KNEW IT. (LOL) No matter how good or bad a meeting went there was NO WAY I was getting out of the home or off the phone without a lesson in gambling. From the Horse track to Baccarat and from Bowling to baseball, Tom had a "IN" on them all. It was when Tom and I stopped talking business and started talking about life and sports that I realized how much we had in common. As a matter of fact them more we spoke the more we realized we had mutual friends and family with whom he bowled with. In what turned out to be Toms final days in the hospital I stopped by to see him and asked who he wanted to win the Super Bowl. Tom shook his head when Peg said 49ers and I let him know I had put him on my super bowl grid and may place a wager for him. When I received that call Saturday I could not help but think of that Fats Domino song walking to New Orleans being that the Super Bowl was being played there. When the 49ers were getting beat up in the second half and the power went out, I knew Tom had arrived. It was a good try Tom but we still lost buddy! From 4am visits to 2 day casino stays we loved doing it the Tom Breen way! Rest in peace my friend. Lenny Treece

For all the challenges Tom faced, it never stopped him from having a smile or pleasant word. It has been some time since we last saw Tom, but he remains in our hearts. Joy, I know how much you loved your brother; know he is now whole and happy with God.
