So sorry for your loss, Known Alice for many years! Miss her so, but I know she is no longer suffering, she was such an encouragement and spiritual warrior to each and everyone of us at Calvary Baptist. So loving and caring. May God give your family the comfort and peace now and during the months ahead!

I was so saddened to hear of Alice's passing, but what a testimony she had! She was an inspiration to me - always opening her heart and home to me whenever I visited Greenville, and giving great advise and insight. She loved her family unconditionally. Although I never became a member of her family, and many ways I feel she was a part of mine. My prayers and thoughts are with you all. She will be sorely missed.

I have known Alice since I was a child, where she was my Sunday School teacher at Calvary Baptist Church. I recall she was always kind and thoughtful, and a true reflection of her Savior. She was a great encouragement to me, and I have loved and appreciated her thoughout the years. I am glad that she is now enjoying the promises of God's Word. May God pour out his blessing on you, Laurel and Wayne, and your families.

Dear Laurel, Wayne and families,
Psalm 116:15 tells us that the death of one of his saints is precious in the sight 0f the Lord. The truth of that verse was never more shown than in the home going of your mom. What an amazing story of faith her life and death is! The service, today, was beautiful. The music sung, scripture read, prayers offered; and sermon given were a great tribute to her, but more so to our Lord.

Alice, a faithful member of the Body of Christ, was faithful to the end in fulfilling His command: "Pray ye for one another". I believe she continues to fulfill that command as she stands before the Lamb where her intersessions are as the smoke of sweet incense rising before her Savior. Missed, loved, and I am glad that she continues the prayer warrior for us. She stands with the multitude which none can number and will hear, "well done, my good and faithful servant".

Now all her labors and trials are oer,
And Alice is safe on that beautiful shore,
Alice is near the dear Lord she adores,
Now through the ages be glory for Alice.
Oh, that is glory for Alice,
glory for Alice, glory for Alice,
When by His grace she shall look on His face,
That will be glory, be glory for Alice.
Now, by the gift of His infinite grace,
Alice is accorded in heaven a place,
Alice is there and looking on His face,
Now through the ages be glory for Alice.
Friends will be there she has loved long ago;
Joy like a river around her will flow;
Yet just a smile from her Savior, I know,
Will through the ages be glory for Alice.

(message continued from where I got cut off before)
From the late 1970's when I first attended Calvary Baptist Church, Alice became a friend, a spiritual mentor, and a diligent prayer warrior for me and my family. Alice has accomplished her goal of II Timothy 4:7 which says, "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith." I can only imagine the glorious joy Alice is experiencing now in Heaven because "Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints" (Psalms 116:11).

Condolences to Laurel and Wayne and your extended families. May you take comfort in her love for Jesus and His love for her: our God is "the God of all comfort" (1 Cor 1:4) and the comfort you receive you will learn to share, as I imagine she did to so many through the years, to judge from remembrances posted here. May our God give you comfort and peace.

To all who knew & loved dear Alice... my prayers are with you... & yet, at this moment, my tears are of joy... at the thought of the party in heaven. She did so much for this broken kid & so many other broken kids... She showed Christ & so much love... no matter our age... I am too sick to come tonight & must work tomorrow but my heart will be praying in every spare moment... My God wrap his arms of comfort around you tight.. blessings...

Our sympathy to Laurel, Wayne and the Pierantoni family.
I met Alice 59 years ago today (2/21/54) at Open Bible Church (Calvary Baptist). Through the years Alice was my friend Laurel's mother, my Sunday school teacher, and a great friend. When I married Wayne, he also became her friend and through the years we could always depend on the faithfulness of her prayers for us. We know that today she is enjoying Heaven with the Lord she loved and served. Love, Wayne & Carol

What an amazing legacy. Alice was a wonderful example of what living for God looks like. I loved having her as a teacher and enjoyed working with her as I got older. When my husband and I left for the ministry she would check in and let us know she was praying for us. I always knew she cared. She will be missed.

Laurel and Wayne, As you well know, your Mom has been leaving her footprints in my life since I was six years old. For all of us Lewis children, she was always "Alice", our across the street neighbor. At some point she became my second Mother and role model in so many ways. I will miss her dearly for this short time between now and when I see her again in heaven. Thank you for sharing her so willingly. Vic and I extent our deepest sympathy to you, Barry and Anna Mae.
