1936 - 2013
Shirley E. Havens, age 76 of Rockford, a beloved mother, grandparent, and friend, went to be with her Lord after battling a prolonged illness on April 2, 2013. She was preceded in death by her father, Milton Jewell and mother, Lila Hunting (Jewell); brother, John Jewell; and grandson, Jason Havens. She was married to Richard Havens; they enjoyed and shared many years of marriage. She faithfully served on the board as president of Rockford Towers for many years. Her son and daughter-in-law, Tim and Sandy Havens; son Rick Havens and Pam Cuppy; eight very special grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a host of friends will lovingly remember her. We will miss her good nature and sense of humor. Memorial contributions may be given to the American Cancer Society.

'Shirley's fun look at life will be missed by all the "geezers" from her class. She never missed a chance to make us look at life in a more positive way. We will miss her at the monthly breakfasts @ Jody's. Lois
