1929 - 2013
 Evelyn Mae Nielsen, age 84, died Tuesday morning, April 9, 2013 at her daughters home in Belding. She was born February 5, 1929, the daughter of Fred and Gladys (Monroe) Schultz. She was retired from Leppinks Food Center in Belding after many years of employment. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary in Lakeview, and a past president of the Royal Neighbors of America. She loved playing cards with her special friend, Howard Tiffany and others, and often hosted card club gatherings. She was a longtime member of Turk Lake United Methodist Church. Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, John, on April 19, 1964; special friend, Howard Tiffany, on December 27, 2012; brothers, Robert, John, and Don Schultz; and nieces, Jeannie and Darlene. She is survived by her children, Elaina (Lee) Morey of Hudsonville, John Nielsen, Jr. of Montana, Marilyn (Rick) Jones of Belding, and Gary (Debbie) Nielsen of Sheridan; six grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and sisters, Nita (John) Mount of Arkansas, Joyce Burdick of Lansing, and Rose Sutphin of Petoskey. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM Tuesday, April 16, 2013 at Hurst Funeral Home, Greenville, with visitation from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM prior to the service. Rev. Kim DeLong, current pastor and Rev. Kay Welsch, former pastor of Turk Lake United Methodist Church will officiate. Interment will be in Little Denmark Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to Ionia Area Hospice or the American Cancer Society.

Evelyn was such a beautiful woman and I am blessed to have known her. God has another wonderful angel singing in heaven.

Your mother was a very special friend, she was so willing to
help out at the Church. She especially enjoyed working in the "pie room" during the 4th of July Ice Cream Social. Such a wonderful person. I will truly miss her.
