1932 - 2013
 David S. Meek age 81 of Greenville passed away at home Tuesday April 9 2013.
He was born in Los Angeles CA on April 6, 1932 the son of Thomas and Eudora Bremmer Meek. Dave graduated from Hoover High School in Glendale CA and attended National Electronic School in Los Angeles. He served in the US Air Force serving in Alaska and after his discharge he was employed in the electronic field his entire working life. first in the Jet Propulsion Lab in California, then at General Electric in Edmore MI followed by his own business Meek Electronics in Greenville and then 15 years as a computer instructor for Montcalm Community College West in Greenville prior to his retirement.
He married Janice K. Reinke in Greenville at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church on Oct 18, 1958, where he will also be buried in the churchs Memorial Garden. Dave was a long time member of Mt. Calvary serving as an elder and as the treasurer for many years. He and Jan are members of a special Mt. Calvary Supper Club the past 45 years. Dave very much enjoyed working on his computer, watching movies at home, reading, traveling with his wife, eating - out and spending time with family and friends. Having celebrated 55 years of marriage and being a wonderful companion, he will be greatly missed by his wife and family.
He is survived by his wife Janice, their children; Chris Meek (Melinda), of Greenville, Teri (Chris) Ruthruff of Ionia and Tonda ( Matthew) Cole of Greenville, grandchildren, Sara, Luke and Kara Ruthruff and Seth and Jesse Cole and his brother-in-law David Reinke (Roxanne Bradshaw) of Canon City, Colorado.
An informal celebration of his life will be held for friends and family on Sunday April 14 2013 from 2 to 4 PM at Hurst Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be given to Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church 908 W. Oak St. Greenville MI 48838.

Dear Chris, and your Mom: so sorry to hear of your loss. I remember your dad well. He fixed a lot of our families tvs. Nice man and will be missed. I remember him coming into my dads store for things and he always had a smile to share. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Jan, my heart breaks for you and your family at this time. I actually was in computer classes at the time Dave worked at MCC.
