Eugene Hansen, age 89, of Trufant, died Monday evening, April 29, 2013 at Twin Oaks Retirement Home in Gowen. He was born on October 27, 1923, the son of Carl J. and Anna M. (Nielsen) Hansen. He graduated from Trufant High School, class of 1942. He married M. Maxine Brown in 1947. Eugene taught for many years at area schools, retiring from Carson City Schools. He was also a farmer for most of his life. He was preceded in death by his wife, M. Maxine; son, Mickey Hansen; and several siblings. He is survived by his daughter, Susan Hansen; grandchildren, Paul and Monica Smith, Carter Miles, and Michael and Courtney Miles; great-grandchildren, Hillary, Dakota, Danee, Karson, and Kody; and many other relatives and friends. No formal funeral services will be held. Visitation will be Thursday, May 2, 2013 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Hurst Funeral Home, Greenville. Private interment will be in Little Denmark Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Trufant Senior Center.
