1929 - 2013

Constance June Pflug died May 31, 2013 at home with her family at her bedside. She was born June 23, 1929 in Kankakee, IL to Clarence and Dorothy (Rieck) Genson. Connie married Theodore Pflug on July 14, 1957 and mothered five children. She served as a primary grades school teacher, teacher aide, and in leadership roles in Lutheran churches and community. Connie was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Marion and Virginia; and daughter, Jill, who died the same day as her mother. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Ted; four children, Amy of Catonsville, MD, Beth (Robert) Bies of Indianapolis, IN, Kirk (Laura) of Grand Rapids, and Jon of Greenville; grandchildren, whom she so loved, Jonah, Ryleigh, and Peri; and brother, Jerome (Norma) Genson of Kankakee, IL. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, June 10, 2013 at St. Paul Lutheran Church (9884 South Greenville Road), Rev. Betsy Kamphuis officiating. Memorial gifts may be directed to Lutheran Social Services.

Dearest Family, I am deeply saddened to hear of Connie's and Jill's passing. My heart goes out to all of you, Ted, Amy, Beth, Kirk and Jon and familes. My memories of our familes together in past years give me peace in knowing they are walking with in Heaven with all His angels. My prayers and with you always. My whole heart is so sad for you, Ted, Amy, Beth, Kirk, Jon and your families. I am so sorry to learn of Connie's passing, and of Jills' passing. I love you all even though the miles have separated us for so many years. My heart and prayers are always with you and angels always surround you every moment.

We remember Connie as a kind loving person from Bethel Lutheran Church many years ago. Norm I remember working with Connie in the kitchen trying to get recipes just right, it was always fun:) We will meet again. Love Marie

Connie was so much to me. I taught her children at West. We shared the joy of teaching together. She was my friend. My thoughts and prayers are with her family. Connie loved her family!
