I went to high school with Dar and always found him to be polite and kind. While I didn't know him well, he left a lasting impression on me and I've never forgotten him. I'm so sorry for your loss. He was much too young to go so soon.

Dear family and friends of Dar, I had the privilege and FUN of working with Dar during his 3M years. He was a unique and enjoyable work colleague and friend. Seems it was not possible to be just the former! I last talked with Dar when he called my office about 3 years ago, and it seemed we were nearly as connected for those few minutes as we were when we were talking business regularly years ago. Your Dar was a unique and talented man who could connect so well with people that he could not help being sucessful and valuable. My very best to you as you miss him and endure these early days of loss. Blessings on you all.

Tammy, I was so sorry to see and read about Dar's failing health on the front page of the Daily News the other night. You are to be praised for giving of yourself as his sister and caregiver. That is quite frequently a "thankless" job. I sure miss the days we worked in the office at Spectrum Health United Memorial Hospital together. May God help your heart to heal as time goes on. Love ya!

Haven't seen Dar in years, but so remember the fun times at CMU with him and his fraternity...he always had a smile on his face, and he was such a fun loving guy. Once facebook started, I would chat with him, and he always told me how proud he was of you Anne, Ali and Michael. Your dad was a special guy, peace be with all of you.

To all of Dar's family and friends, I am so sorry to hear of Dar's death, and my prayers are with you! I met Dar at Spectrum Health when we worked together to bring in a new product. I don't exactly remember which product it was but I remember his dedication and passion for his work and his care and consideration for people...especially nurses and their patients. He was intelligent, dedicated and caring, a real "people" person! The last time I saw him, it was right after his transplant. He was being wheeled past me in a wheel chair, obviously going through some significant physical challenges, but still stopped to say hello and inquire how I was doing. He was a delightful human being and I know he will be missed! Marti Ruble, RN
