Amanda Lee WardAmanda Lee (Laster) Ward, age 35, peacefully went to be with her Lord and Savior Tuesday, July 9, 2013 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born November 11, 1977. Amanda is survived by her mother, Verna (Gregory) Holmden of Gowen; father, Donnie (Pamela) Laster of Wayland; children, Savannah, Caden, and Thaylen; husband, Brandon Ward of Grand Rapids; siblings, Alicia Hill of Grand Rapids, Jeffrey Hill of Greenville, David Laster of Wayland, and Derek Osytek of Grand Rapids; grandfather, Winston (Maxine) Laster of Greenville; mother-in-law, Sue Ward of Grand Rapids; step-father, Jeff Hill of Greenville; step-brothers, Andrew, Alex, and Casey Holmden, all of Greenville; good friend and special caregiver, Veronica Babcock of Greenville; Thaylens father, Roger Babcock; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Memorial services will be held at 3:00 PM Saturday, July 13, 2013 at Hurst Funeral Home, Greenville, with visitation from 2:00 to 3:00 PM. Memorial contributions may be given to Hospice of Michigan.

To Amanda's family, Although I only met Amanda back in Nov. 2012 I felt she was a very special person, loving mother and a friend. My prayers and a heavy heart goes out to her family, may god be with each and everyone of you.

Amanda and I shared quite a few laughs and jokes and tears all through high school. She was very special to me and even though we hadn't talk much lately, I will miss her. My condolences to her family, her husband and children. May her soul soar with the angels and may her memory always be a blessing.
