I am sad to hear of Bonnie's passing. I had no idea until just reading this now. My heart goes out to you all for your support during the years. I remember all the good times with the Hemmes family and mostly remember Bonnie's kindness to everyone.

I was so sorry to hear of your mom's passing. She was a lovely woman and I know how close you were. I still have the mittens she knitted me after I commandeered yours at Albion and I always think of her (and you) fondly when I where them (which is Minnesota is very often). Bonnie will be more than deeply by more than just family but by the close friends that knew her. She was always a great neighbor to us and I always enjoyed stopping and catching up with her about the family and she was always happy to see and play with my kids when we would meet up. She was always a wonderful adult to me growning up and I always respected her for that. I just talked to her the other day and she was doing so great!!! I am glad she is not suffering and is now in gods open arms and with all the people who love her up there. She will always be with you all in spirit. I am right down the road and am willing to help with whatever Carl or your family needs lots of love and prayers going out to all of the family. As you go down this road, remember to tell your kids the great things she did in life and celebrate the wonderful lady, wife and mother she most definitely was and what has passed on to her wonderful children.

Bonnie L. Katterjohn, 69, passed away peacefully in her home on Tuesday, July 16, 2013. She was born on September 25, 1943 in Greenville to the late James and Teresa (Feldpausch) Hemmes. Bonnie enjoyed gardening, painting, playing cards, and caring for her family, especially her pets. She was a devoted wife and mother and will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved her. She was preceded in death by her daughters, Wendy and Angel Andersen; and her brothers, Fred Hemmes and James Hemmes, Jr. She is survived her her husband of nearly 37 years, Carl Katterjohn, Sr.; her sons, Todd (Lisa) Andersen, Steve Andersen, Dan (Connie) Katterjohn, and Carl (Julie) Katterjohn, Jr.; her daughters, Patti (Steven) Powell, Diana Dillon, and Kristin (Nathan) Rahn; 11 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and her brother, Robert (Pamela) Hemmes. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM Friday, July 19, 2013 at Hurst Funeral Home, Greenville, with Rev. Dr. Jerrold T. Jones officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM prior to the funeral. Private interment will be in Forest Home Cemetery, Greenville. Memorial contributions may be made in Bonnie's memory to the American Heart Association (3816 Paysphere Circle, Chicago IL 60674) or to the Michigan Humane Society (www.michiganhumane.org).
