I am so sorry for your loss. Anyone who's met David no doubt had great memories of him. Cory and I have thought of him many times over the last 20+ years since we knew him.

To the Gonzalezs family, I am so sorry about the death of your dear loved one. From reading the Guestbook it appears that many will be hurt and will surely miss Mr. Gonzalez. Please know that Almighty God will surely heal the brokenhearted ones, and is binding up their painful spots.(Psalm 147:3)

Last year David talked to my 11 year old daughter who had just broken her arm. She was having a hard time seeing why God would have let that happen to her. He told her the story of his car accident and how broken he had been. He assured her that God doesn't let anything bad or painful happen to us without a very important reason. He told her that in time, he was able to look back and actually thank God for all that He did during that frightening time of pain and brokenness; that though God cares about our body, He cares more about our soul; and that God knows what He's doing, even when we don't.
I'm so thankful for David's influence! My heart hurts for you. :( I'll keep praying!

Pastor David Gonzalez is now worshiping face to face with his Lord. Born June 27, 1964, he died Wednesday evening, July 31, 2013. David served as Worship Arts Pastor at Greenville Community Church, a ministry he cherished. He is survived by his wife, Tamarah L.; children, Carissa, Calyn, and Brendon Gonzalez; father, Andres Gonzalez; and siblings, Lee (Merisel) Gonzalez, Ernesto (Sonia) Gonzalez, Ana (Paul) Wheeler, and Nelson (Regina) Gonzalez. He was preceded in death by his mother, Ana Gonzalez. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Sunday, August 4, 2013 at Greenville Community Church (6596 Vining Rd., Greenville), Rev. Joel Heron and Rev. Nelson Gonzalez officiating. Visitation will be Friday, August 2 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Hurst Funeral Home. Private burial will be in Spencer Township Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to Have Mercy Ministries.
