1931 - 2013

Dennis Norman Koenig Sr. age 81 of Greenville (formerly of Novi) peacefully passed away at home on Tuesday, August 6,2013. With family by his side, he went to be with the Lord. He was born November 8,1931 in Bruno Saskatchewan, Canada the son of Joseph Anthony and Mary Ann (Horky) Koenig. Dennis will be remembered by his family and friends, as having been a loving, caring and kind man. As his son Dennis Jr. said, he had no enemies. More than anything, Dennis loved his family. He looked forward to holidays and the impromptu visits by grandchildren and great grand children to see their Gramp. He will be missed by all who knew him, but especially by Dennis and Dlorah Koenig ) beloved son and daughter-in-law), Denise, Steve, Alecia Moore ( beloved daughter, son-in-law and granddaughter), Jenni Palmer (beloved granddaughter) and Gary Smith (family friend), Krisitlyn, Dan, Montana Wickes, Kelly and Jamie Hill Jr. (beloved granddaughter, grandson-in-law and great grandchildren and Michelle Evans and son Matt (loving caregivers). Dennis was a veteran and proudly served his country in the Marine Air Corps. There was a great reunion in Heaven as he joined Judith, his wife of 46 years, her parents, his parents, Dlorahs mom and grandparents, 7 brothers and sisters, one grandchild and many other family members and friends. Per his wishes there will be no funeral or formal service. A special thanks from Dennis family goes out to Hurst Funeral Home of Greenville and Great Lakes Hospice and Home Care. The emptiness in his familys lives is only consoled by the love he had for them and by the magnitude of wonderful memories they have because of him forever in their hearts.

I remember so many good times when we were growing up playing in the back yard of the Meadowbrook house when we gave bubbles the duck to be taken to the house up north your mom and dad told me one day when I stopped by to visit that they knew that bubbles and clover come back ever year to show off the new babies your dad laugh so hard at us talking about the ducks so many years later I will never forget them you all are in my thoughts and prayers forever friends
