Timothy L. Arntz Click for Condolences      Printable Version
1978 - 2013

Timothy L. ArntzTimothy L. Arntz, age 35 of Greenville, died Wednesday, September 4, 2013. Tim is survived by his parents, Jeff and Jackie Arntz; sister and brother-in-law, Kelly and Ryan Johnson; grandparents, Bill and Betty Arntz; nephews, Alex and Jacob Johnson; fiancée, Stefanie Reitsma and her daughter Shay; and aunts, uncles, and cousins. Tim graduated from Greenville High School in 1996 and attended Montcalm Community College, where he received his Journeyman's card and worked at Greenville Tool & Die. He later owned and operated his own automobile finishing business. Tim enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, and any vehicle with an engine- the louder and faster, the better. He was an avid boxer and was the West Michigan Golden Gloves champion in 1996. He had a special relationship with his grandparents and nephews, had friends wherever he went, and could find something in common with just about anyone. He will be missed by those who knew him. Visitation will be at Hurst Funeral Home on Tuesday, September 10, from 6 to 8 p.m. A table with cards will be available for friends to write memories of or experiences with Tim. Memorial contributions may be given to the Education Foundation of Greenville (www.efgmi.com) or to the National Alliance on Mental Illness (www.nami.org).

Please feel free to post a message of condolence.

Jeff and Jackie, I wanted to say so much more at Tim's visitation but could not find the words. I want to say thank you. Not only for the opportunity to have known him, but for the way you always welcomed me into your home whenever I visited. Although I had not seen you or him recently, Tim was one of my few true friends and will be missed greatly.

Arntz Family, With our deepest sympathy, we are so sorry for your loss. I became friends with Tim in Middle School and since then, whether we were in contact or not, he has always held a special place in my heart because he was an incredibly special person. Helen Keller said, "All that we love deeply becomes a part of us." He was loved deeply by so many and he will never be forgotten. We pray that in time God will begin to mend the broken pieces of your hearts and replace the pain with hope and loving memories. Your family is in our daily thoughts and prayers.

Arntz Family, we are so deeply sorry for your loss. Timmy was a dear friend of over 29 years and always brought a smile and great humor to every situation. He found friends everywhere he went. There are so many great memories of growing up in sports, drag racing muscle cars, trucks and at the sand dunes, racing dirt bikes and working his pit for him, riding snowmobiles all over Montcalm county; the list is endless. It cannot be stressed enough how admired he was and how badly he will be missed. Our deepest condolences and dont hesitate to reach out if you need anything. Grace & Peace.

My heart goes out to the Arntz family. I loved having Tim and Tom and Brandan at my house. They were such good friends, and sooo active! Tim's smile was the greatest! It would light up the room, and made him look oh so innocent. He will be remembered and missed.

With deep sympathy, our thoughts and prayers go to the Arntz family. Tim was a beautiful person both inside and out. He had this amazing way of making you feel special, just by being you. His smile was so warm and welcoming and could always lift your spirits. I pray that you have peace now, my friend. You will be missed more than words can say. When you lose someone you love, your whole world is shattered. Nothing looks the same. People don't know what to say and the only solace can be found in moments of exhausted sleep. You're not supposed to forget them. You're not supposed to get over it or even through it. That life you had will not come back. You will see them again one day. In the meantime, you've got this life to live. It won't be the same, but it doesn't have to be awful. If you'd passed instead of them, you wouldn't want to be looking down seeing their days filled with misery mourning the loss of you. Grieve, yes, and mourn, and don't rush the flood of feelings and memories. But when you feel you can begin again, do so without guilt. Live for them, love for them, share every good thing they taught you with the whole world. This is a beautiful way to honor their life and have what they gave to you carry on in spirit for the rest of your days. -Doe Zantamata

Arntz Family, I lived just down the road from you and knew Tim growing up. He used to come down on his dirt bike and a few of the neighbor kids and I would chat with him. I came home for a visit a year or so ago and was running alongside the road. Tim was driving by and must have recognized me because he turned around an we chatted for a few minutes. He was always a friendly person and it saddens me to hear of his passing. My family's thoughts and prayers go out to you.

I have known Tim since middle school. We always laughed and had fun together as he had a wonderful sense of humor. We shared many memories throughout high school. I know his love for his fast cars. I especially remember the one that he cherished greatly and his senior picture taken with in high school. He is a great friend. He will be forever missed. Losing a longtime friend is so difficult. I wish to maintain the many memories I shared with Tim because I believe it is an essential and important element during these deep moments of sorrow and through the grieving process. I will forever honor his friendship and retain the fond memories and will always and keep them alive in my heart. I pray for the grace and peace of Gods comfort to be with all of Tim's loved ones during all the difficult moments. Romans 14:8 For if we live, we live to the Lord, and if we die, we die to the Lord. So then, whether we live or whether we die, we are the Lords.
