Mike- Sorry I can't make your mom's memorial. Rosemary's father has passed away recently and we are in Detroit. Truly enjoyed having your parents as neighbors while I was growing up. Good memories to remember. Hope things are well with you. Sincerely.... Steve Klackle

It is said, "The people who make a difference in your life are not the ones with the most credentials, the most money or the most awards ... They simply are the ones who care the most." As an English teacher extraordinaire, Marge was one of those people, articulate, elegant, compassionate, friendly. She drew out the best in all her students and cared about us the next 30-60 years, too. We mourn her passing. My condolences to her family.

Mike and Family, I am sad to hear of your mother's death. She was a fantastic teacher--I had her for English in High School and she taught me the basics of writing that served me well. I hope you are comforted by your many wonderful memories of her over your life journey.

Sweet Lady, and great teacher!.. Always greeted me after high school as though I was still there, always interested in my music career. When I Used to play the old GR art museum. Marge and Jack would always come and listen. I usually spent most of my break time with them. She was and is class. RIP Marge.

So sorry to read of her passing. She was one of my teachers, but beyond that, she was an elegant lady in every sense of the word.

I remember learning so much from Marge in English class. I have enjoyed the language ever since and recall the relaxed, friendly classroom she so selflessly offered us.

Mrs. Highfield was a mentor and model for me as I studied literature and writing with her and made the teaching of English my life's work. She had a personal style that I admired, and a shoe wardrobe that I coveted. I tried to emulate her in many ways, not the least of which was wearing a different pair of shoes to school every day of the marking period. She was wonderful! xoxo

Mike, I was deeply saddened to learn of your mother's passing. She was not only one of my favorite teachers, but also a good friend over the years. I always enjoyed talking with both your parents at the alumni dinners. Heaven is brighter today with her smile and pleasant personality, but our community has certainly lost a class lady!

Sorry to learn of Mrs. Highfield's death. She knew me well as one of her underwhelming English students. She was an outstanding teacher and a very high quality person. Many of her students were well prepared for college writing and have gone on to great sucesses in life. Sorry, Marge, that I didn't do better.
