
Frieda D. Feutz Kaiser age 96 of Kent City passed away Friday April 18, 2014 at Spectrum Health Blodgett Campus. She was born in Maple Valley Township Trufant on December 7,1917 the daughter of Carl F. and Belva E.(White) Nielsen. Frieda graduated from Maple Valley Schools and after raising her family she graduated with the first class of nursing students at Montcalm Community College and worked for the hospital and also for Dr. Bunce in Trufant. She was a lifetime member of Mary Queen of Apostles Catholic Church of Sand Lake and currently a member of Holy Family Parish Sparta and of the Danish Sisterhood for many years. Frieda enjoyed 25 years of wintering in Florida and even being visually impaired these last years she was not deterred from living alone and continued to play the piano, play cards with her family and win. She also was an avid Detroit Tiger fan and enjoyed fishing with her family.
With the help of family, her special care givers, Dawn King and Cindy Norton and Don and Donna Engles and all her wonderful and caring neighbors, she was able to stay in her own home until her passing.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Clair Feutz and Leo Kaiser, her two sons, Gerald Lum Feutz and Norman Feutz, her grandsons, David and Christopher Feutz and James Orlowski and brothers, Carl, Lloyd and Kenneth Nielsen, and her son-in-law Delbert Edison.
She is survived by her children; Alice A. Edison, Jim (Luanne) Feutz and Judy (Ed) Orlowski, grand children; Curt Feutz, Douglas (Tina) Feutz, Bradley Feutz, Pamela Feutz, Scott (Darla) Edison, Tammy Edison, Barbara (Craig) Brooks, Susan (John) Norman, Jeffrey (Karn) Orlowski, Jon Orlowski, Joel (Sandy) Feutz, Sally (Billy) Culey, Daniel (Judi) Feutz, 34 great grandchildren, 12 great great grandchildren, her siblings, Agnes C. Ludtke-Skora, Alger (Nancy) Nielsen, John Rit Richard (Jean) Nielsen, Belva Stout, Margaret Krebs and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday April 22, 2014 at 11 AM from Mary Queen of Apostles Catholic Church, Sand Lake with Rev. William Zink as celebrant. Visitation will be Monday from 4 to 7 PM at Hurst Funeral Home with a prayer vigil at 6:30 PM. Burial will be in Trufant Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to Trufant Friends or a charity of your choice.
