William Ladd Wardell Click for Condolences      Printable Version 1927 - 2014 William L. Wardell, age 87, passed away Saturday, May 31, 2014 at Oak Crest of Kentwood. He was born March 22, 1927 in Grand Rapids, the son of Ladd and Mary (Faulk) Wardell. He is survived by his wife, Mary of Coady Lake, Coral; children, Diana (Tom) Martin of Kentwood, Dan (Clara) Wardell of Grand Rapids, Sue (Dan) Jonker of Jenison, Joe (Nancy) Wardell of Grattan, Mary Beth (Dan) Nyson of Lakeview, Ann (Lloyd) Seese of Middleville, Patty (Mike) Smith of Caledonia, and Sandy (Roger) Hamel of Ionia; 19 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; sister, Lenore Cartwright; and sister-in-law, Lenore Doran. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers-in-law, one sister-in-law, one son-in-law, and one grandson-in-law. A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 12:00 PM Tuesday, June 10, 2014 at Mary Queen of Apostles Catholic Church, Sand Lake, Rev. Lam T. Le presiding. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM prior to the service in the church activities building. Inurnment will be in Coral Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Oak Crest of Kentwood (Fieldstone Building).

Mary and children, my sincere condolences to you on Bill's death. I have lots of happy memories of working with Bill at Blessed Sacrament. I have a meeting on Tuesday at the chancery so cannot be at the funeral as I had hoped. I will be remembering Bill in my Masses at Holy Family, Sparta. Msgr. Terry
