 Lourie Marie Wickes, age 59 of Greenville, died Sunday, June 22, 2014 at Spectrum Health Butterworth Campus in Grand Rapids. She was born February 4, 1955 in Greenville, the daughter of Roger and Dorothy (Bannen) Marks. Lourie was an employee at Electrolux for more than 30 years. She enjoyed camping and loved her "river family" at Sandy Beach. She adored her grandchildren and loved spending time with them. Lourie was preceded in death by her father, Roger Earl Marks in 2005. She is survived by her loving husband, Dean Wickes of Greenville; mother, Dorothy Marks of Greenville; children, David (Kathy) Hendrick of Sidney, Ryan (April) Wickes of Virginia, and Jessica (David) DeCanio of Walker; grandchildren, Kaleb, Langston, and Jennalee Cai Hendrick, Belle Kujawski, and Jack and Brady DeCanio; brother, Roger (Linda) Marks, Jr. of Greenville; sister, Gail Soules of Greenville; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Jan (Bruce) Hoople of Stanton and Lynn (Lee) Burns of Grand Rapids; and her Sandy Beach river family. A time of visitation in celebration of her life will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Thursday, June 26, 2014 at Hurst Funeral Home, Greenville. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.

My deepest sympathy to Lourie's family. She was an amazing person and an inspiration to us all. She fought til the very end, and I am grateful to have known her. We lost a very special person but God gained a great angel. RIP Lourie.
