1925 - 2014
 Mildred Delores (Marshall) Higgins, 89, of Greenville, passed away Sunday evening, July 20, 2014, at Spectrum Health Long Term Care Center in Greenville. She as born February 22, 1925 in Altona, Hinton Township, Michigan, to Orville and Beulah Marshall. She grew up north of Lakeview and later made her home in Greenville with Clarence (Spike) Higgins who she married on May 2, 1981. He preceded her in death on December 3, 1986. She loved life, was an avid gardener and enjoyed cooking and baking for family and friends. She was a dedicated grandmother who enjoyed time with family. She was a loyal NASCAR fan whose favorite driver was Jeff Gordon. In her later years, she found a passion in playing Bingo with her care center friends. She had been a member of the Greenville Moose Lodge Chapter 1620 since 1986 and was a member of the Greenville American Legion Auxiliary. She is survived by her son, Gary Fountain and Deb; grandchildren, Tim and Annette Fountain, Rey and Shelley Ramirez, and Matthew and Robin Dommer; brothers, James Marshall (Six Lakes) and Stanley Marshall (Otisville); and great-grandchildren, Jared Fountain, Nicole Fountain, Jason Adams, Jessica and Chad Puff, Brennan Ramirez, Claire Dommer and Lucas Dommer; and three great-great-grandchildren and six nephews. Also surviving are her long-time close friends, Dee Becker and Donna Corder. Visitation for Mrs. Higgins will be on Wednesday, July 23, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at Hurst Funeral Home, Greenville. Funeral services will be at the funeral home at 11:00 AM Thursday, July 24, with Pastor Ken Harger officiating. Private family burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery, Six Lakes. The Fountain family wishes to extend sincere appreciation to her special family and caregivers at Spectrum Health Long Term Care Center in Greenville. Your care and compassion will long be remembered. Memorial contributions can be made to the Ray Booth American Legion Post 101 Auxiliary.
