
Bernice L. Lohr age 98 of Greenville passed away Thursday September 18, 2014 at her home in Green Acres Retirement Living. She was born in Ashland Nebraska on November 29, 1915 the daughter of Earl and Grace (Kanode) Sutton. She was a graduate of Waverly Nebraska High School in 1935 and was married to Irving Lohr on December 28, 1935 in Papillion Nebraska. He preceded her in death May 19, 1984 and she was also preceded by her brother Omer Sutton and a granddaughter Marsha Lohr.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Greenville, the Danish Sisterhood and the Eastern Star (Life member) and enjoyed bowling and doing volunteer work in her retirement. She was employed as an Optometrist assistant for many years with Dr. Carl Smith and for 20 years with Dr. Homer Shrader.
She is survived by her sisters, Vera Bloomstrom of Lincoln, Nebraska and Eve Anderson of Waverly, Nebraska, her children; Carol (Bud) Zayler of Greenville, Robert ( Judy) Lohr of Zeeland, grandchildren; Tim (Kris) Lohr of Zeeland , Kevin Lohr of West Olive, Lisa (Scott) Nyhuis of Zeeland, Brian (Tracy) Zayler of Greenville, Jennifer (Martin) Collins of Rockford, Rebecca (David) Smith of Macomb Township, Julie (Curt) Cantrell of Lowell, 14 great grandchildren, 2 step great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Monday September 22, 2014 at 11 AM from First United Methodist Church with her Pastor, Rev. Don Spachman officiating with burial in Rest Haven Memory Gardens, Belding. Visitation will be Sunday from 5 to 7 PM at Hurst Funeral Home.
