1942 - 2014
 Albert "Vern" Brandon, 72 was welcomed home by our heavenly father on November 5, 2014. He was reunited with his son, Larry Brandon; his parents; sisters, Mary Jane Meyers and Dixie Weaver; brothers, Glenn Brandon and Bob Brandon; and a very special sister-in-law, Sharon Adkins. Vern was born March 13, 1942 in Kalkaska, Michigan to Albert and Nellie (Johnson) Brandon. He is survived by his loving of wife of 54 years, Susan Brandon; daughter, Tammie (Darren) Rogers; son, Jeffrey (Amy) Brandon, daughter-in-law, Shelley Brandon; 13 grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren. Also surviving him are his mother-in-law, Betty Adkins; sisters, Virginia (Reggie) Potter and Sandra (Billie) Eggleston; brothers, Ron (Carol) Brandon and Donald (Donna) Brandon; sister-in-laws, Sally (Arvid) Curry, Sandi (Bud) Day, and Kathi (Richard) Summers; brother-in-laws, Ed (Louann) Woodman and Richard Woodman; and numerous nieces and nephews. Vern was a very kind and generous man, and was a wonderful husband, father, and proud grandpa and great-grandpa. He lived most of his life in Sheridan, and was very active in the community. He served as a Lions Club member for many years, and was a member of the Masonic Lodge. Vern was a Tool and Die maker and loved to do woodworking in his spare time. His greatest joy in life was the wonderful family he raised with his wife, Susan and he was proud of each and every one of them. He will be remembered for his love of life and service to others, for his love of fishing, bike riding, and the special trips he took with his sweetie. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, November 11, 2014 at Hurst Funeral Home, Greenville, Rev. Andy Croel officiating. Visitation will be Monday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Inurnment will be in Sheridan Cemetery. Those wishing to make a memorial contribution in Vern's honor are asked to consider McLaren Hospice or the Alzheimer's Association. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.

Such a nice picture of your dad, Tammie! I'm so sorry about his passing. I know that he was very special to you. Cherish your memories of him and let them give you strength in the days, years, and months ahead. Thoughts and prayers to you and your family.
