1929 - 2014
 Harold Richard Kohley, age 85, passed away Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at his home in Greenville. He was born July 24, 1929 in Wheaton, Illinois, the son of Henry and Rose (Fortman) Kohley. Harold was a veteran of the US Army, serving in Germany during the Korean Conflict. He was the owner and founder of Culligan of Greenville in 1957 and served the community with a positive and full of life attitude. His community involvement included St. Charles Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, Greenville Country Club, Greenville Lions Club, Greenville Library Board, Habitat for Humanity, Sigma Theta, Chamber of Commerce, American Legion, Loyal Order of the Moose #1939, and Fraternal Order of the Eagles. He was married in 1953 in Chicago to Ann Geraghty and she preceded him in death in 1991. In 1996 he married Bonnie (Liimatta) Bratty. He was also preceded in death by his brothers and sisters, Elmer, Henry, Marge, Stella, and Alice; and Bonnie's daughter Michelle. He is survived by his wife, Bonnie; his four sons, Steve, Mike (Kathy), Joe (Ruth), and Tom; Bonnie's children, Rob (Angie) and Michael; grandchildren, Allison (Mark), Lindsey (Jordan), Dylan, Jim (Dawn), Joey (Maiko), Paul, Tyler, Trevor, Katy, Christi, Hanna, Dustin, Desiray, Kassandra (Jimmy), Kyla, and Kenzie; 11 great-grandchildren; sister, Hilde Hahn; brother, Bill (Vergene) Kohley; sister-in-law, Dolores Kohley; and many nieces and nephews. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday January 3, 2015 at 11 AM from St. Charles Catholic Church, with Rev. Father Darrel Kempf as celebrant. Burial will be in St. Charles Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Friday from 5 to 8 PM at Hurst Funeral Home. In lieu of Flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Habitat for Humanity, Spectrum Health Hospice or St. Charles School.

This is a belated message. I still think about Uncle Harold all the time. He was always smiling, upbeat, kind and welcoming. A true gentleman and a loving uncle. He is missed.
