1925 - 2015
 Doris M. Willmore age 89 passed away peacefully on March 5, 2015 at Twin Oaks Memory Care in Gowen. She was born in Eureka Township, Greenville MI on June 4, 1925 the daughter of Leward and Alta (Johnson) Kent. Doris was a graduate of Greenville High School with the class of 1943 and was married to Lawrence G. (Ted) Willmore on February 23, 1946. She was a life-long resident of Greenville and had worked as a medical transcriptionist at the United Memorial Hospital and for many years and retired from the Greenville Public Schools as secretary the Middle School Counselors office. She was a member of Turk Lake United Methodist Church and the circle of the church serving as treasurer, volunteered as a Gray Lady at United Memorial Hospital, past member of Per Gradus, Bridge Club, Red Hat Society and South Side Child Study Club. She enjoyed knitting, embroidery, cross stitching and playing bridge. She and Ted loved and enjoyed their family and traveling with trips to many places. She spent winters in Pharr TX for several years after Ted’s passing, but her favorite spot was at the home at Turk Lake where she loved working and making pies for the annual ice cream social on the 4th of July at Turk Lake Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband on June 7, 1984.
She is survived by her sons, Roger L. (Judy) Willmore of Stanton and Robert D. (Nancy) Willmore of Jacksonville FL, her grandchildren, Roger L. II (Sheri) Willmore of Greenville, Mark (Jennie) Kenny of Belding, Amy Willmore, Erin (Kelly) Stephenson , great grandchildren, Reed, Drew, Tatiania, Chase, Brook and William, her brother Dale (Janie) Kent of Florida and nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday April 11, 2015 at 11 AM from Hurst Funeral Home with Pastor Kim De Long, Dan Chapp and Mindi Willett Taylor officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven Memory Gardens, Belding. Visitation will be on Saturday from 10 AM to 11 AM at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to the Turk Lake United Methodist Church or a charity of your choice.
