Kurtis J. Kooistra, age 61 of Howard City, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, March 14, 2015. He was preceded in death by his father, John Kooistra; sister, Connie Courtright; brother, Brian Kooistra; sister-in-law, Phyllis Kooistra; nephew, Heath Courtright; and grandson, Grayson Mey. Kurt is survived by his loving children, Kirk Kooistra, Jodie (Steve) Fauble, Jared (Laurie) Kooistra, Josh (Shannan) Kooistra, and Heather Kooistra (Nicholas Stroheide); grandchildren, Alayna, Zade, Kuyper, Eliza, Wyatt, Amelia, and Kinsley; mother, Jeannette Bailey; sisters, Gloria (Bill) Medendorp, Karen (Phil) Robbennolt; brother, Wayne (Cheryl) Kooistra; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM Thursday, March 19, 2015 at Hurst Funeral Home, Greenville, with visitation from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM prior to the funeral. Rev. Ryan White, pastor of First Baptist Church, Stanton will serve as officiant. Private interment will be in Hillside Cemetery, Entrican.
