Irene Ruth Son, 83, Gallipolis, Ohio formerly of Columbus passed away Thursday March 13, 2003 in the Holzer Medical Center. She was born May 11, 1919 at Champaign, Illinois daughter of the late Robert and Oshel Woods Dabney. She was reared on the Dabney Family Farm at Bidwell, and was a graduate of Bidwell-Porter High School. She retired from the Union Fork and Hoe of Columbus in 1986, where she was employed as Chief Payroll Officer. She returned to Gallipolis in 1995 to assist in the care of her older sister Thelma Rees who survives. In addition to her sister she is survived by:

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Richard C. Dabney and Earl C. Dabney.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Saturday March 15, 2003 in the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Wetherholt Chapel, Gallipolis with Mr. James Sims officiating. Burial will folow in the Mound Hill Cemetery, Gallipolis. Friends may call at the chapel 12:00-2:00 P.M. Saturday.
