Karla Christine Hampton, 53, Patriot, Ohio passed away Thursday, July 3, 2003 at her residence following an extended illness. She was born September 14, 1949 in Gallia County, daughter of the late Cecil Ray and Lenora Victoria Aldridge Rice. She had been employed as a Deputy with the Gallia County Sheriff’s Department since 1986. While with the Sheriffs Department she served as a Corrections Officer and most recently the Gallia County Triad Coordinator. Karla was a member of the Centerville Order of Eastern Star, Morning Star Chapter 444 and attended The First Church of The Nazarene, Gallipolis. She is survived by her Husband Charles “Chuck” Hampton and One son and daughter in-law, Christopher Charles & Darlene Hampton both of Patriot.Two Grandchildren, Christopher Brady and Kali Christine Hampton. One sister and brother in-law, Sherry & William Peck, Patriot, one brother and sister in-law, Richard Douglas & Crystal Rice of Hernando, Florida, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Sunday, July 6, 2003 in The First Church of The Nazarene with Rev. Bob Fulton and Rev. Eugene Harmon officiating. Burial will follow in the Family Cemetery, Patriot, Ohio. Members of the Gallia County Sheriffs Department will serve as Honor Guard and make the presentation of the United States Flag. Friends may call at the The First Church of The Nazarene, 1110 First Ave., Gallipolis, Saturday, 5:00-8:00 P.M.. Arrangements are under the direction of the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Wetherholt Chapel, Gallipolis.
