1934 - 2004

Carl T. Mefford, 70, Ewington, Ohio passed away Monday, January 19, 2004 in the Pleasant Valley Hospital, Point Pleasant, West Virginia. He was born January 15, 1934 at Clark County, Ohio son of the late Elmer "Roy" and Muriel Wilcoxon Mefford. He was a retired employee of the Gallia County Local Schools.

Carl was a U.S. Army Veteran and a member of American Legion Post #27, Gallipolis; Life Member of Meigs DAV Post #53 and the Good Sam Campers club. He attended Ewington Church of Christ in Christian Union and Trinity Baptist of Rio Grande. He married Dorothy Crouse, December 28, 1955 at Northup, Ohio and she survives.

In addition to his wife he is survived by: One Grandson: Jeremy Ryan Pollock and Fiance, Stephanie McKenzie Three Sisters: Arlene (John) Smith, West Liberty, Ohio Willadean O'Brien, DeGraff, Ohio Naomi (Richard) Amlin, Urbana, Ohio Several Nieces and Nephews

He was preceded in death by two children: Cheryl Lynn Pollock, June 18, 1995 Roger Lee Mefford, October 28, 1975 One infant brother, Edward Mefford Brothers-in-law, Robert O'Brien and Fred Crouse One Niece, Carolyn Davis Perry One Great-Nephew, B.J. Perry

Funeral services will be held 1:00 P.M. Thursday, January 22, 2004 in the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Vinton with Rev. Mike Puckett officiating. Burial will follow in the Vinton Memroial Park. Full military graveside rites will be conducted by American Legion Post #27. Friends may call at the funeral Home Wednesday, 5:00-8:00 P.M. Honorary pallbearers will be Roger Hollingsworth and James Davis.
