John Converse Keels, 92, Bidwell, Ohio (Harrisburg Community), passed away on Tuesday morning, Jan. 27, 2004, in Holzer Medical Center, Gallipolis.
He was born Nov. 2, 1911, in Gallia County, Ohio, a son of the late John and Lenora Roberts Keels.
Mr. Keels was a retired vocational instructor for the former G.S.I. now known as the Gallipolis Developmental Center. In addition, he was a member of the Elks Lodge, Columbus, Ohio.
He is survived by a sister, Ruby Harris, Oak Hill, Ohio; three half sister, several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, Jan. 30, 2004, in the Union Baptist Church, Blackfork, Ohio, with the Rev. Roger Ford officiating.
Burial will follow in the Union Cemetery.
The body will lie in state one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.
