1916 - 2004

Robert H. Eagle, 87, Bidwell, Ohio, and formerly of the Vinton Community, passed away in Holzer Medical Center Monday, April 12, 2004. He was a bus driver for the Gallia County Schools who retired in 1981 following thirty years service; and a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church, Porter. Bob enjoyed all sports including Coon Field Trials.

He was born October 4, 1916, in Vinton, son of the late Clyde Ernest Eagle and Cora Matthews Eagle. He married Erma Parsons on November 19, 1938, in Catlettsburg, KY, and she survives with two children: Larry (Phyllis) Eagle, Bethesda, Ohio Janice (Roberts) Zarbaugh, Groveport, Ohio Four grandchildren: Linnette (Bryan) Grove, Pittsburgh, PA Tiffany (Dustin) Chapin, Jacksonville, FL Kimberly Ann (Charlie) Graham, Gahanna, OH Robert (Bobbi) Kinker, Gahanna, Ohio Seven great-grandchildren: Abigail Grove, Brendan Grove; D.J. Chapin, Carson Chapin, Nathan Chapin, Lauren Graham, Kellie Graham, Allena Kinker and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by one grandson, James Matthew Kinker and one sister, Helen Halley.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, 11:00 A.M., at the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Vinton, with Rev. Pat King officiating. Interment will be in the Vinton Memorial Park.

Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday, 6:00 to 8:00 P.M.

In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be given to the Trinity United Methodist Church, 101 Porter Road, Bidwell, Ohio 45614

I am sorry that I could not be there for Bob but was out of town. I have fond memories of Bob, especially teaching me how to drive a school bus. Bob was with me when I took my test and I got stuck on 2nd Ave. in Gallipolis, we both had a good laugh. He will be missed.
