James Edward Hall Sr., 77, of Vinton, passed away at his residence Tuesday, June 29, 2004.
Born Sept. 29, 1926, in Floyd County, Ky., son of the late John and Minnie Spears Hall, he was a WW II Army Veteran and had retired from the U.S. Steel Corp., Lorian, in 1982.
Hall married Carol Ruth Bischoff June 22, 1956, in McArthur.
He was preceded in death by four brothers, Truman, Randall, Thelmer and Lonnie Hall.
Hall is survived by his wife; eight children, Kathryn Hall of Lorain, Dalla (Tom) Starcher of Vermillion, Gail (Samuel) Meade of Bidwell, Barbara (Steve) Moore of Columbus, Ruth (Tom) Darst of Vinton, James E. Hall Jr. of Rodney, Ray Hall of Vinton, and Debra Stump of Cheshire; 21 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and two siblings, John Hall of Vinton and Nola (Bill) Skeens of Lorain.
Services will be 11 a.m. Friday in the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Vinton, with the Rev. Willie Smith officiating. Burial will be in the Pine Grove Cemetery, Vinton.
Friends may call the Funeral Home from 5-8 p.m. Thursday.
