
Keith R. Brandeberry, M.D., 84, Gallipolis, passed away at Holzer Senior Care Monday, August 7, 2006. He was born Sept 27, 1921 at Coolville, Ohio, son of the late Adam W. and Norma Bingman Brandeberry.
He earned a Bachelor of Science Degree from Ohio University, Athens in 1942; his Medical Doctorate Degree from Case Western Reserve, Cleveland in 1946. While in medical school, he was a member of Phi Rho Sigma Fraternity and the Hamann Honorary Medical Society. A US Navy WWII Veteran, Dr. Brandeberry served as Director of the Department of OB-GYN, Guam Memorial Hospital while stationed in Guam, 1947-49. He completed his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at General Hospital, Cincinnati, Oh, 1949-52.
A Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Dr. Brandeberry joined the staff at Holzer Clinic, Gallipolis in 1952. He established the OB-GYN Department where he practiced and served as the OB-GYN Department Head until his retirement in 1993. He also served on the Holzer Clinic Board of Directors. It is estimated that Dr. Brandeberry delivered more than 16,000 babies during his forty-four year Medical Career.
Dr. Brandeberry's civic organizations and community involvements include:
Member and Elder, First Presbyterian Church, Gallipolis; Past President Board of Trustees, Past President and and Paul Harris Fellow, Gallipolis Rotary Club; Member of the Executive Board, Ohio Valley Bank for thirty-six years; member of the Board of Trustees, University of Rio Grande, 1969-2003, President, 1979-1981, and he was instrumental in the establishment of 911 for Gallia County. He served as President of the following: Gallia County Chamber of Commerce, 1966-1967;
Washington Elementary PTA; Gallipolis Savings and Loan Board of Directors. In addition he was presented the 2006 Outstanding Service Award from the Gallipolis Boat Club, a member since 1957.
Dr. Brandeberry married Evelyn Werner on March 10, 1945, and she survives, with:

Funeral Services will be held 1:00 PM., Saturday, in the First Presbyterhian Church, 51 State St., Gallipolis, with Rev. Tim Luoma officiating. Burial will be in the Mound Hill Cemetery.
