Florence W. Lintala, 86, of Gallipolis, passed away Tuesday at Holzer Medical Center. She was born July 13, 1920 in Fairport Harbor, Ohio to Albert and Margarette Labirdie Werbeach.
She graduated from Fairport Harding High School in 1938. She married Donald E. Lintala in Burlington, KY on October 19, 1940 and they recently celebrated 66 years of marital bliss. From that union they produced two children: Brian L. (Lori) Lintala of Wellston, Shelley E. (Dr. Robert) Humphrey of Lombard, Illinois and one grandson Jeremy Humphreys of Illinois.
She is also survived by Diana (Charles) Raming and several sisters-in-law and brothers- in-law, nieces and nephews, as well as many loving friends.
Florence was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Margarette Werbeach; Sisters: Alice Kondas and Barbara Rought; Brothers: Ernest, Eugene and Rev. Marvin Werbeach; Father and Mother-in-law: Tony and Ida Lintala and Sister-in-law: Judy Lintala.
Florence was a homemaker and a Holzer Surgical Hostess Volunteer and Grey Lady for 41 years. She was involved with the French Art Colony and Our House. She was very active in the community and worked hard to promote Gallipolis.
Funeral services will be at the Grace Methodist Chapel on Friday at 11:00 A.M. with the Rev. Bob Powell officiating. Burial will be in Mound Hill Cemetery, Gallipolis. Friends may call Thursday from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home on First Avenue in Gallipolis.
