James Phillip Gilbert., 46, Vinton, Ohio, went to be with the Lord at his residence with his family near his side on Saturday, November 4, 2006. He was owner/operator of the Gilbert Trucking, Vinton, and in addition contracted for Kokosing Inc., Columbus.
James was born January 26, 1960 in Gallipolis, son of Goldie Deel Gilbert who survives and resides in Vinton, and the late James Homer Gilbert Sr. He married Jerri Ellen Spencer on April 26, 1979, in Vinton, and she survives with three children: Tamme E. (Steven) Koebel, Vinton, OH; Christopher P. (Jennifer Giles) Gilbert, Vinton, OH; Amber N. Gilbert, Vinton, OH; Grandchildren: Zackary Matthew and Nickalas James Koebel;Five brothers and one sister: Donnie (Tenna) Gilbert, Rio Grande, OH; Larry (Diane) Gilbert, Vinton, OH; Gary Gilbert, Vinton, OH; James H. (Kimberly) Gilbert Jr. Vinton, OH; Rick Gilbert, Vinton, OH; Wilma Gilbert, Vinton, OH; and a special uncle and friend, Brady Gilbert, Cheshire, OH.
Funeral Services will be held 1:00 PM., Wednesday, in the Harvest Time Worship Center Church, Main Street, Vinton, with Rev. Denver McCarty officiating. Burial will be in the Poplar Ridge Cemetery near Cheshire.
Friends may call at the Harvest Time Worship Center Church on Tuesday, 2:00 - 8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Gifts may be sent to the James Phillip Gilbert Memorial Fund, P.O. Box 148, Vinton, Ohio. Arrangements are under the direction of McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Vinton Chapel, 208 Main St., Vinton, Ohio.
