D. Wayne Evans, Rio Grande, Oh., departed this life on Saturday, January 13, 2007, in Pleasant Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Pt. Pleasant, WV. He was born on June 17, 1928, in Columbus, Ohio, son of the late David Wendell Evans and Mary Jane Evans Evans.
Wayne was an Administrator in the Amanda Clearcreek School System and retired in 1982. He attended the University of Rio Grande and received a
B.S. Degree, Secondary Education from Cedarville College; and M.S. Degree, University of Wyoming. He was a US Army Veteran, Korean War and his memberships included: Simpson Chapel United Methodist Church, Gallipolis
American Legion Post 27, AM Vets, Centreville F&AM Lodge 371, Aladdin Temple, Scottish Rite Valley of Columbus, Gallipolis Shrine Club, and the Gallipolis Elks Lodge 107.
Surviving are his wife of fifty-seven years, Marjorie Fadely Evans; brother, Glendon "Cap" Wauneta) Evans, Columbus, OH.; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, J. Robert Evans.
Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM., Wednesday, in the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Wetherholt Chapel, Gallipolis. Burial will follow in the Tyn Rhos Cemetery.
