(Dear Funeral Director Could you give this to Rev.Alfred Holly to read during the service.)
Dearest Family of Christine,
My heart is crying out with you this day. And I regret that I cannot return to attend with you this day; for, God is keeping me busy serving churches in Highland County, OH. I fondly remember my many visitation times with Christine while I was serving as The Pastor For Fair Haven United Methodist Church. She would share about her life, her home and her children. Loving memories were what she shared of you all. She loved playing games like Bingo at Scenic Hills and I still have the Little Stuffed Hong Kong Fooey doll that she gave me one day when I visited. She and I would talk about Kanauga Church and Sunday School days. I know she appreciated the regular Visits of Margeret and Dessie. She liked to take trip outside scenic Hills-she would often talk how her children would take her out for a Hamburger at McDonald's. I always wanted to take her out on a trip for a hamburger, but I never got that done.
My most memorable day with Christine, and I think I have shared this with Alfred. I had many visits with Christine and we talked of God, Church, and prayed together. But, one Fateful April Afternoon...Her Birthday...I stopped to Visit. As I visited, The Lord told me , Ask her if she knows me as savior. I was like Surely, Lord, She has...But I will obedient and ask. Her reply was no that she hadn't. So, I responded with Would you like to Accept Jesus today? She said YES! So, In April 2002, on her birthday, Christina Black , accepted Jesus as her Lord And Savior! She celebrated her NEW BIRTH In Christ and Birthday on the same day! I left to return the next day to offer baptism to her. Let me just say I was Singing in my heart! I returned the next day with a Baptismal font and baptized her, because that's what she wanted! We Sang and visited more afterward. I loved that little lady! She was used by God to teach a beginning Pastor. She will always have a special place in my heart. But, I know I will see her again! That's the wonderful news! You can see her again. John 14: 1-6 is a very comforting passage here. Don't have Troubled hearts family and Friends, Believe in GOD-Believe In Jesus Christ! Christine is in her mansion now, and I bet she can't wait to see you all in Heaven with her!
Ecclesiates 7 says rejoice in a death- rejoice for even though she's absent from her body, from our eyes, she's present with the Lord.
