Willard Dean Smith, 75, Bidwell, passed away in the Scenic Hills Nursing Center on Friday, February 2, 2007. He was born Feb. 10, 1931, in Bidwell, Ohio, son of the late Jerome and Lenora Guthrie Smith. He was a U.S. Army Veteran and a retired employee of the Smith Hauling Co., Bidwell. He had previously driven school bus for the Gallia County School System.
Willard is survived by five children:

Stanley Smith, Florida
David (Marica) Stroud, Gallipolis, Ohio
Vicki Stroud O'Day, Columbus, Ohio
Roger Stroud, Gallipolis, Ohio
Eight grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, one brother, Gerald (Promolia) Smith, Bidwell, Ohio, and one sister, Julia Mickey, Columbus, Ohio
Several Nieces, Nephews, and Cousins
Special Friend: Barbara Stroud
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Leo Smith, and a sister, Shirley McDaniel.
Funeral Services will be held 1:00 PM., Monday, in the Mt. Carmel Church, Bidwell, Ohio, with Pastor Gene Armstrong and Pastor Calvin Minnis officiating. Burial will be in the Buck Ridge Cemetery and the American Flag will be folded and presented by the Gallia County Veteran Service Organizations.
