Adis Maynard Jr., 69, Vinton, passed away unexpectedly at his residence on Saturday, Feb. 24, 2007.
He was born July 10, 1937, in Pike County, Ky., son of the late Adis A. Maynard and Gladys Chapman Maynard. He was a retired US Air Force veteran and had also retired from the Gallia County school system where he was custodian for Vinton and Bidwell elementary schools.
He married Regina Mae Kuhn on Sept. 2, 1964, and she preceded him in death on Dec. 7, 1984.
He is survived by two sons, John T. (Julie) Maynard, Vinton, and Jeff (Emily) Maynard, Roseville, S.C.; three grandchildren, Alex and Regina Maynard, and Catherine Christine Maynard; two brothers, Fred (Margaret) Maynard, Texas and Henry Lee (Nancy) Maynard, Bidwell; and three sisters, Florida (Albert) Hively, London, Ohio, Martha Sue Holley, Vinton, and Etta Marie (Ralph) Spence, Bidwell.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2007, in the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Vinton, with Pastor Mickey Maynard officiating. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Military services will be conducted by the Vinton American Legion Post 161.
