Opal Metheney, 78, Vinton, (Wilkesville community) Ohio, passed away in Holzer Senior Care, Bidwell, Oh., on Friday, April 20, 2007. She was born April 14, 1929 in Williamson, WV, daughter of the late Sammy Marcum and Julia Runyon Marcum.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Delbert Metheney, two brothers and three sisters.
Surviving are sons: Dick (Bev) Metheney, Piketon; Tom (Patty) Metheney, Wilksville; daughters: Darlene (Bob) Steele, Sunbury; and Janet (Mike) Kuhn, Columbus; Grandchildren: Brandy Metheney, Vinton, Emily and Katie Kuhn, Columbus, Nathan and Tanner Metheney, Wilkesville;
Devoted sisters: Lucy Maynard, Ernestine Clay, Shirley (Howard) Parsley, and Evalou (Don) Lawson.
Mrs. Metheney was a fifty year member of the Old Regular Baptist Church including the Little Flock Church.
Funeral Services will be held 1:00 PM., Sunday in the Little Pearl ORB Church, Mt. Tabor Rd., near Vinton, with Brothers, Jerry Runyon, Sam Franks and Russell Hicks officiating. Burial will follow in the Marcum Cemetery.
