Amy Dianne Saunders Vinson, 58 of Gallipolis, passed away on Monday April 23, 2007, at her home after a yearlong courageous battle with brain cancer.

Born August 29, 1948 in Herman County, Michigan daughter of Haskell and Ivy Gathercole Saunders of Bidwell, OH. She was a 1966 graduated of North Gallia High School, and Married her husband of 40 years Jim Vinson on October 1, 1966. She and Jim lived in Washington, DC and Florida before making their home in Gallia County. Amy was formerly employed with the Gallia County Division of Soil & Water Conservation for seven years and later the Gallia County Treasurer’s Office, from which she retired in February 2005. She loved to be outside in her flowerbeds with her Yorkie, Cooper at her side, playing basket bingo with friends, and long trips to the beach.

In addition to her parents, Amy is survived by her adoring family, husband Jim Vinson, Gallipolis, sons Brian Vinson (fiancée Tina Brand), Worthington, and Chris Vinson, Gallipolis, daughter Beth (Jared) Moore and one very loving grandson Broderick “Brody” Moore, Gallipolis, brothers, Doyle (Sharon), Phil (Cathy), Steve (Darla), and Keith (Paula) Saunders all of Bidwell. She also has many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews and very special friends including Sandra (Charlie) McFarland of Bidwell and Nancy (John) Cox of Gallipolis.

The arrangements are under the direction of her Son in Law and his family at the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Gallipolis and her Aunt and Uncle and Cousins at the Willis Funeral Home, Gallipolis. The Family will receive friends and family on Saturday April 28, 2007 from 11 am till 2pm at the Willis Funeral Home. A memorial service shall follow at 2pm with Reverend Walt Goble officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to: Gallia County Animal Welfare League In Memory of Amy Vinson PO Box 216, Gallipolis, Oh 45631.

Beth, Jared, Brody & family, So sorry to learn of your Mother's passing. Times like this are so difficult and we will keep you in our prayers. You will find that even the little memories of your Mother will become so vivid to you each day..I guess that is what we call "precious memories". Our deepest sympathy. God Bless.

Jim & Family, I was so sorry to hear of Amy's passing. I know how you all feel during this time. Amy was a wonderful lady and I always appreciated her kindness even when we were in high school together. Please know that you all will be in my prayers. To Amy's Family, So sorry to read about Amy's passing but I know she would want you to go on with your lives and she will be an angel from heaven watching over her family especially that grandbaby. Our thoughts and prayers go out to all of you. May you find comfort in knowing that others share your loss too.
