Willis Norman, 64, of Vinton, passed away Tuesday, July 31, 2007, at Holzer Medical Center, following an extended illness.
He was born May 14, 1943, in Pike County, Ky., son of the late Andrew and Mexico Prater Norman.
He is survived by his wife, Avonell Smith Norman of Vinton; children, Lucille (Dale) Cox of Jackson, Willard “Junior” (Beverly) Norman of McDermitt, and Keith Norman of Kentucky; a granddaughter, Chelsea Dawn Harrison of Jackson; brothers, James Norman of Alabama, and Dale Norman of Gallipolis; a sister, Phyllis Dotson of Mount Sterling, Ky.; and a special sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Garland and Ezell Ward of Vinton.
In addition to his parents, Willis was preceded in death by a brother and sister, Frank and Naomi Norman.
He was a member of the Deercreek Freewill Baptist Church at Vinton.
Services will be 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 3, 2007, in the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home at Vinton, with Pastor Mickey Maynard and Pastor Jake Fry officiating. Burial will follow in the Vinton Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday, Aug. 2, 2007, from 5 to 8 p.m.
