Mildred Eloise Russell Adkins, 70, Bidwell, passed away Saturday, Oct. 20, 2007, surrounded by her family in Holzer Medical Center. "Finally I am Home, so happy in His sight."
Midred liked attending gospel sings and church. She was a founding member of the Trinity Gospel Mission, located on State Route 554, near Eno, where she served as the secretary/treasurer.
Mildred was born May 11, 1937, at Morgan Center, Ohio, daughter of the late Harold M. and Ethel G. (Ruschel) Russell.
She is survived by her husband, Charles Adkins; two daughters, Marcy Gregory (Avery), Vinton; and Ramey (Bruce) Dray, Gallipolis; three sons, Sonny (Donny) Adkins, Vinton, Randy Adkins (Debbie), Bidwell, and Richard Adkins (Debbie), Bidwell; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren' one brother, Harold E. (Patty) Russell, Bidwell; four sisters, Naomi Clonch (Eldon), Fort Myers, FL, Nancy (Michael) Montgomery, Lehigh Acres, FL, Darlene Morock (Ron), Gallipolis, and Vickie Meade (Gary), Bidwell; step-mother, Eloise Cromlish, Jackson County, Ohio, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Mildred was preceded in death by her first husband, Raymond Adkins; daughter, Rhonda Adkins; grandson, Shawn Gregory; son-in-law, Rodney Gregory; and two brothers, Raymond and James Russell.
Funeral services will be held at 1 P.M., Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2007, in the Trinity Gospel Mission near Eno, with Pastors Bob Hersman and Teddy Russell officiating. The Final Resting Place will be in the Morgan Center Cemetery. Friends may call from 2-4 P.M. and 6-8 P.M., Tuesday, at the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Vinton Chapel, 208 Main St., Vinton. The body will lie in state one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the Trinity Gospel Mission.
