Jabez D. Parsons, 90, Waverly, OH. and formerly Gallipolis, OH., passed away Thursday, January 3, 2008, in the Piketon Nursing Center, Waverly.
He was born June 26, 1917, Arnoldsburg, WV, son of the late O.D. Parsons and Addie Kingsbury Parsons. He was a retired Air Polution Control Inspector for the State of Washington and retired at Seattle in 1978. He served in the Army Air Corp in WW II and was a member and Past Commander of American Legion Post 27, a member of the VFW Post 4464, and the AM-Vets, Gallipolis. He served as Gallia County Veterans Service Office for several years retiring in 1993. In addition, he was a member of the New Life Lutheran Church, Gallipolis, and the Vinton F&AM Lodge 121.
Jabez and Waltraud were married in Seattle, WA., in 1969, and returned to Gallipolis in 1978. She preceded him in death 1993.
He is survived by three sons:
James (Linda) Parsons, Kearney, MO.
Steven Parsons, Seattle, WA
Patrick (Amy) Parsons, Waverly, OH.
Grandchildren:
Tony, Mark, Madison, Abigail Parsons
Six great-grandchildren; brother, Dale Parsons, Roanoke, VA.,
sister, Erma Eagle, Gallipolis, OH., and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM., Monday, January 7, 2008 in the New Life Lutheran Church, 170 New Life Way, Gallipolis, Burial will be in the Vinton Memorial Park where Grave Side Military Rites will be conducted by the Gallia County Veterans Service Organizations.
