Georgia Hartsook Flowers, 77, of Vinton, was received by the Lord into her eternal rest early Saturday morning, Jan. 12, 2008.
She was born on May 28, 1930, in Gallia County, daughter of the late Eslie and Lucy Hartsook.
In years past, she was a member of Knightdale Baptist Church in Knightdale, N. Ca., where she served in the adult choir and was choir director the Childrens and Cherub choirs. She was also a member of the Raleigh, N. Ca., chapter of Sweet Adalines. She retired from Dillon Supply Co., Raleigh, in the late 1980s and moved back to Ohio in the early 1990s, where she joined Vinton Baptist Church and served as treasurer of her high school alumni association.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Flowers was preceded in death by her husband, John Wallace Flowers, and grandson, Karl Dwight Righter, Jr.
She is survived by her children, Robert Alan Righter of Goldsboro, N. Ca., Karl Dwight Righter, Sr., and his wife, Jill, of Franklinton, N. Ca., Lori Flowers Burrell and her husband, Jeff, of Raleigh; sisters, Hazel Boggs and Darlene Swerlein; loving grandchildren, Jason Righter, Joe Allen, III, Georgia Boyette, Misty Bayles, and six great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 21, 2008, at Vinton Baptist Church, 11818 State Route 160, with Rev. Jeff Burrell presiding. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2008, at the New Knightdale Baptist Church Cemetery, Mailman Road, Knightdale, N. Ca., where Mrs. Flowers will be interred beside her husband. Arrangements for the graveside service provided by L. Harold Poole Funeral Home, Knightdale.
