Robert Steele Click for Condolences      Printable Version 1916 - 2008 Robert H. Steele, 92, Vinton (Wilkesville Community), Ohio, passed away at the Twin Maples Nursing Home, McArthur, on Saturday, Feb. 2, 2008. He was a Lineman for General Telephone Co., retiring following twenty seven years service and a U.S. Army Veteran, WW II. He was born January 10, 1916, in Wilkesville, son of the late James H. Steele and Millie Montgomery Steele. Surviving are his wife, Gail Carpenter Steele and four children: Linda (John) Morgan, Wellston, Oh Nancy Steele, Wilkesville, Oh Judy (Jack) Yates, Logan, OH. Robert A. (Darlene) Steele, Sunbury, Oh. 7 Grandchildren, 12 Great-grandchildren one Sister: Mary Stone, Pataskala, Oh. And several nieces and nephews In addition to his parents Robert was preceded in death by three sisters Betty Norton, Dorothy Saunders and Katherine Irvin Funeral Services will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday February 6, 2008 at the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Vinton, with Pastor James Snyder officiating. Burial will be in the Vinton Memorial Park. Friends may call at the Funeral Home on Tuesday 4:00 - 8:00 p.m.

We remember Uncle Bob sitting on our porch and telling the greatest stories, we will miss him very much and our prayers are with his family and freinds.

I started working for GTE on the line crew with Bob. He was a great guy to work with and to learn from. He always had good stories to tell and a friendly way about him. I am sure he will be missed by all who knew him.
