Ike T. McCollum, 84 of McArthur, Ohio entered into the gates of Heaven, Sunday March 2, 2008 at Holzer Medical Center, Jackson. He was born May 20, 1923 in Winchester, Indiana son of the late Volley andVolecy Mullins McCollum. He was a retired auto mechanic and a WW II U.S. Army Veteran.

Ike is survived by three sons and four daughters;

Larry (Ivy) McCollum, Londonderry,OH

Randy (Louise) McCollum, Harpswell, Maine

Delbert (Sherri) McCollum, Jackson, OH

Shirley (Albert) Smith, Ewington, OH

Judy Canter, Wellston,OH

Carolyn Franke, Tiffin, OH

Bonnie Cowger, Jackson, OH

17 grandchildren, Bryan, Ian, Andrew and A.J. McCollum; Ryan and Jarred Canter, Derek Nathan and Chelsie Cowger, Shannon (Billy) Witt, Danelle (Shannon) Bare, David (Missy) and Daryl (Toni) Smith, Denise (Warren) Clark, Patty Stewart, Ryan Rhoden and Tara (Shane) Gilliland, Jackson, 17 great-grandchildren, one brother and three sisters, Bee McCollum of Kentucky, Mae Lamb of Zaleski, Dorothy Wynn of Conway, Ky. and Francis Allen, Berea, Ky.

Daughter -In-Law, Katrina McCollum McGhee, Meigs, Co., OH.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two sons Bobby Ray and Gary Herbert McCollum, his first wife and mother of his children, Bessie P. Griffin McCollum and second wife Mabel V. Inboden McCollum, two brothers Harley and John McCollum and one sister, Susie Phillips.

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Friday March 7, 2008 in the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Vinton, Ohio with Pastor Denver McCarty officiating. Burial will follow inVinton Memorial Park with full military grave side rites conducted by McArthur VFW Post 5299. Friends may call at the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Vinton on Thursday 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. and 6:00-8:00p.m.

I see nobody had anything kind to day about Ike. I guess that should be considered sad. Personally, I think he was a low life sob, and the fact that he died, I"m terribly sorry for his children, but he left his wife with a whole house full of kids with not a kind word to say to any of them. Then he married my grandmother, which he treated like dirt. My only hope is that the good lord above forgives him for the wrongness that he has done. He's dead, GOOD, hope he suffered.

Such a shame that Ike passed away. Lord knows we'll all miss him. He was married to my grandmother.
