She was a homemaker and a 1974 graduate of Kyger Creek High School.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband, Ronald Lee Smith of Vinton, two brothers and one sister, Roger (Cheri) Spaulding of Bidwell, Elmer Jr. (Lee Ann) Spaulding Bidwell, and Cindy (Tommy) Thompson of Bidwell; father-in-law, Raymond Smith of Vinton; brother-in-law, Olen (Carol) Smith of Port St. Lucie, Fla.; nieces, Wendy Halfhill, Miranda (J.W.) Bennett, Jayden Spaulding, Melinda (David) Guse and Melissa (Vince) McKinney; nephews, Ryan Spaulding, T.J. (Heather) Thompson and Drew Spaulding; four great-nieces and five great-nephews; and many close family, friends and loved ones.

Cathy was preceded in death by a beloved grandmother, Elizabeth Sarah Donnett; mother-in-law, Mildred Smith; sand ister-in-law, Dianna Smith.

She was a very loving and caring person who enjoyed helping others, and she will be greatly missed by all those who knew her.

God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change; courage to change the things I can and the wisdom to know the difference.

Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 22, 2008, at the Deercreek Freewill Baptist Church on Sailor Road near Vinton, with Pastor Mickey Maynard officiating.
