We were sorry to hear of Reid's passing. We knew him when we both worked at the Huntington Fire Department (Gary as a firefighter, Elvira in the Fire Chief's Office). Our sympathy goes out to the Varney family.

I wish to extend my condolence to all the family of Reid Varney. I have known this family for well over 70 years and considered them fine neighbors and friends. The passing of Reid was and qite unexpected as I haven't seen him for some time. If this message reaches any of the family, I would like for his sister Jeam Stout to contact me as I have a picture of her with a group of School Children at Cook School in the mid 30's she might want for her albume of things in her past. She may contact me in Huntington at 304-429-3454 or 429-2304 or write me at: P.O. Box 441, Kenova, WV 25530 or Email me at the above Email address.
