HENRY ALBERT "JOHN" HAZELETT, 76, of Huntington passed away Wednesday, January 7, 2004, at the Charleston Area Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the Reger Funeral Chapel by Minister Jeff Maynard. Burial will be in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville. He was born July 22, 1927, in Alum Cave, W.Va., a son of the late William Byrd and Nannie Jane Toppins Hazelett. He was a retired truck driver and a veteran of the U.S. Army. John was also a member of the Westmoreland Church of Christ. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Sue Cutler; four brothers, Charlie, Ezra, Barney and Wallace Hazelett; five sisters, Gertie Thacker, Edna Wise, Lola Booth, Arline Morgan and Pauline Via; and three infant siblings. Survivors include his wife Loretta Kennedy Hazelett, a son and daughter-in-law Greg and Laura Hazelett of Huntington; a daughter, Brenda Lou Hazelett of Huntington; four grandchildren, Evan and Shelby Hazelett and Joey Cutler all of Huntington, and Todd Cutler of Fla.; three great-grandchildren; a sister, Evalee Deering; his wife’s cousin Lillian "Lil" Stephens; several nieces and nephews and a host of friends from church. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday at the Reger Funeral Home.
